At first glance, the New Orleans Saints could feel set in their current group of tight ends.
Coby Fleener is entering his second season Ladarius Green Womens Jersey with the Saints and Sean Payton expressed confidence Fleener's 2017 campaign should be more consistent. The Saints also appear to have depth there with Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui returning to the team after injuries sidelined both players in 2016.
The Saints even brought back veteran John Phillips and carry youngsters Jake Stoneburner and Garrett Griffin on the roster.
So why would the Saints consider drafting a Djoun Smith Authentic Jersey tight end? The same reason the Saints selected Jimmy Graham in 2010 even though they employed veterans like Jeremy Shockey and David Thomas.
The prospects might be too good to pass up at certain points in the draft.
Players like Alabama's O.J. Howard, Miami's David Njoku and Ole Miss' Evan Engram are just the start of a very impressive tight end crop entering this year's NFL Draft. Another passing option for Drew Brees within the offense, especially given his rapport with tight ends, could convince the Saints to nab one at some point.
Plus, taking a tight end might make more sense than you would imagine despite the gaggle of players already on the roster.
Fleener may technically hold four more years left on his contract. As like many contracts, the length of Fleener's deal is more deceiving than it may appear. Fleener could be on the chopping block if he doesn't perform better than in 2016. He would only carry $4.8 million in dead money spread over the final three years of the deal if the Saints release him after this year.
Hoomanawanui only has one year left on his contract after missing all of last season with a leg injury he sustained in preseason. So the http://www.officialnflapparelshop.c...seys-indianapolis-colts-c-1_46.html Saints could potentially need two tight ends next offseason.
Throw all of those factors together and the Saints may be open to drafting a tight end in less than two weeks.

Mike Tomlin praised Ladarius Green's impact on the 2016 Steelers during the NFL owners meeting.
Green, who missed 10 games due to variousNew-York-Giants Authentic Jersey injuries during his first season in Pittsburgh, caught 18 passes for 304 yards and a touchdown last season. After offseason ankle surgery caused him to miss the first half of the season, Green missed the team's final two regular season games and the entire 2016 postseason after suffering a head injury against the Bengals.
"He provided a component to our offense that was much needed," Tomlin said, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Last month, Steelers GM Kevin Colbert said that he is confident that Green will be OK and ready to go for the upcoming season. After providing a temporary spark to Pittsburgh's offense, Green was lost for the year after sustaining a head injury against the Bengals in Week 15.
"(We're) excited about being able to come back and play," Colbert said of Green, according to Steelers reporter James Wexell. writer Jacob Klinger added that Colbert feels that the Steelers "absolutely" got their money's worth in Green in 2016, as Pittsburgh signed the veteran tight end to a four-year, $20 million contract last offseason that included a $4.75 million signing bonus.
Green was certainly a playmaker when healthy in 2016. He played a major role in three of Pittsburgh's wins during the team's seven game winning streak to close out the regular season, specially in the Steelers' victories over the Colts (two catches, 67 yards that set up two touchdowns), Giants (six catches for a career high 110 yards and a touchdown) and Bengals (five catches for 72 yards that included two big third down catches in the second half). He gained a quick rapport with Ben Roethlisberger, who praised Green's football acumen.
"He understands football," Big Ben said of Green during an interview with 93.7 The Fan near the end of the regular season. "When people have asked me about the improv and the ad-lib, the backyard type football, you either have it or you don't. Heath Miller had it, AB (Antonio Brown) has it. We've had guys that just get it, guys that when you're going out and playing backyard football, they're your first pick. Well, to me right now, it looks like Ladarius has it."
Late last month, Green told's Teresa Varley that he has no plans to retire despite his rash of injuries that plagued his first season in Pittsburgh.

Cleveland Brown

# 20.04.2017 - 03:52:03

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Scribbles in my Cleveland Browns notebook as the 2017 NFL Draft is a little more than a week away:
1. Patrick Mahomes. He is the newest quarterback name associated with the Browns. They worked him out in Berea. They have spent time with him. They are intrigued by his strong arm. Coach Hue Jackson said he wants a quarterback Anthony Hitchens Youth Jersey who can throw downfield. The Texas Tech product can do that. He loves to do that.
2. Mahomes played in the "Air Raid" system, heaving nearly 50 passes a game. He didn't have to worry about much but throwing the ball, running around. It's much like the system Johnny Manziel played in at Texas A&M. I have a hard time embracing Mahomes, who truly seems like a project. Most draft experts have him going in the first round. I have major doubts about him adapting to the NFL.
3. A few months ago, I heard the Browns were intrigued by Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer. That was before the NFL Combine. After that, very little Kizer/Browns talk. Kizer and Mahomes do have a few things in common. They both have strong arms. They both are athletic. In the last two years, Kizer ran for 18 touchdowns. Mahomes rushed for 22 touchdowns. Jackson likes a quarterback with some mobility, both of these guys have it.
4. Mahomes or Kizer with the Browns? Who knows? There are big questions about both of them. But it's clear the Browns are intrigued by the possibilities of adding a big play type of quarterback.
5. For months, I've heard North Carolina's MitchelJerome Bettis Youth Jersey l Trubisky as the Browns top quarterback choice. I've not heard anything different. But that doesn't mean the Browns will draft him, unless they plan to shock a lot of people (including me) and pick the Mentor product at No. 1. That said, ESPN's Adam Schefter and's Mary Kay Cabot both believe Trubisky is under serious consideration at No. 1.
6. I do know the NFL and TV networks want as much suspense about the No. 1 pick as possible, so don't expect the Browns to announce their selection when V.P. Sashi Brown meets with the media Wednesday at noon.
7. The big-name quarterback I don't hear linked to the Browns is Deshaun Watson. My guess is the lack of interest has to do with his lack of arm strength. At the NFL Combine, Watson was clocked at 49 mph on his throws. That's very low. Here's how some big names were clocked: Mahomes (60 mph), Davis Webb (59 mph), Kizer (56 mph) and Trubisky (55 mph).
8. For what it's worth, Cody Kessler was clocked at 55 mph at the 2016 Combine. He doesn't seem to have a very strong arm. Paxton Lynch led the way with 59 mph. Other readings from 2016: Jared Goff (58 mph), Carson Wentz (57 mph), Dak Prescott (54 mph), Kevin Hogan (53 mph) and Connor Cook (50 mph). It's rare to find any legitimate p rospect at 49 mph, Watson's reading.
9. I've heard a few whispers of Nathan Peterman connected to the Browns, but I'm not buying it. The Pitt quarterback is much like Cody Kessler. He's a savvy quarterback, but doesn't have impressive arm strength.
10. Another name hooked to the Browns as a later round pick is Joshua Dobbs. Is it because he played at Tennessee? Browns owner Jimmy Haslam is connected to the school. Is it because he does have 35 starts (analytics loves that) and he is extremely smart? He is an astronautics/Aerodynamics major. He played in the Senior Bowl where Jackson and his staff served as coaches.
11. Dobbs did not play in an NFL-type offense. He said the NFL playbook won't be much of a challenge compared to the heavy academic load he carried in college. His velocity was 55 mph. Arm strength not a big issue, but he was pretty inconsistent at Tennessee.
12. You can go crazy with all the rumors. I've been trying to figure out what the Browns could do if they don't find a way to secure Trubisky. My guess is they want a strong-arm quarterback, which eliminates Watson and points toward Mahomes and Kizer.

# 20.04.2017 - 10:40:01

This is one in a series that covers each team, offering viewers information for homework, suggestions and then the opportunity Reggie Nelson Womens Jersey to make a draft pick.
When the NFL Draft begins selections in Philadelphia April 27, the
Minnesota Vikings will sit out the first day and make their first pick at No. 48 overall
Here is an in-depth look at the team's needs, offseason changes, potential best fit and the selections by's experts.
Who would you pick and why?
Top five needs
--1. Right guard: Head coach Mike Zimmer said he has four starters he's comfortable with on the offensive line, adding, "We got to figure out the right guard position." The Vikings released Brandon Fusco and Mike Harris, the starters Morten Andersen Womens Jersey at the position in recent years. Fusco, who rose from late-round pick to earn a lucrative long-term deal a couple years ago, became a major disappointment because of injuries and ineffective play.
--2. Running back: Even after signing Latavius Murray to help fill the hole left by Adrian Peterson's departure, the Vikings are eager to tap into the deep pool of talented, versatile runners available in this year's draft. The Vikings have only shifty, third-down back Jerick McKinnon as a reliable backup at this point. The other running backs on the roster are C.J. Ham, who didn't play as a rookie free agent a year ago, and Bishop Sankey, a third-year pro who played in 29 games for the Titans from 2014-15, but didn't play a game while with the Chiefs a year ago.
--3. Tight end: The Vikings made a strong push to sign Jared Cook, but weren't able to land him. Presumably, they're still on the lookout for help in that area since no other tight end was signed. They have three tight ends under contract, but have only one -- Kyle Rudolph -- who stands out. David Morgan, mainly a blocking tight end, was drafted in the sixth round a year ago mostly because the team figured it would lose Rhett Ellison in free agency this year, which it did. When he's at full strength, Ellison is a much better, more versatile blocker than the developing Morgan. The other tight end on the roster is Kyle Carter, a practice-squad player who went undrafted out of Penn State a year ago.
--4. Defensive tackle: With Sharrif Floyd's future in doubt and only Linval Joseph signed beyond 2017, the Vikings are looking to bolster their defensive tackle positions. Floyd is battling back from potential nerve damage suffered during knee surgery last September. The Vikings thought he'd only miss about four games, but he ended up missing the final 15 games. An utter lack of durability has dogged Floyd since the Vikings took him in the first round in 2013.
--5. Wide receiver: The Vikings let Cordarrelle Patterson and Charles Johnson leave via free agency. They also got only one catch out of 2016 first-round draft pick Laquon Treadwell. They aren't giving up on Treadwell, but with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen as the only reliable receiving threats, the team would be wise to keep looking for more targets for Sam Bradford.
Best fit
--Dion Dawkins, G, Temple. The Vikings need a right guard and have been burned too many times with the philosophy of drafting Day-3 guards and trying to mold them into serviceable players down the road. They need to invest more into the offensive line, which has been a weakness for too long. No first-round pick and a weak pool of linemen to sift through makes it difficult to bolster the line this year. But the 6-foot-4, 314-pound Dawkins could be a good addition. He's not the top guard available, but he's a physical player with a nasty side that's similar to what the Vikings like about left guard Alex Boone. Dawkins also is experienced, having started 43 games at left tackle. He played guard at the Senior Bowl and has the skill set to move to the right side.
-Rob Rang: Dan Feeney, G, Indiana. One of the few positions of concern for the Vikings is at right guard, where Feeney excelled over his career, showing the combination of agility and power to make an immediate impact.
--Dane Brugler: Joe Mixon, RB, Oklahoma. It is anyone's guess where Mixon and his baggage land, but the Vikings have shown interest.
--Pat Kirwan: Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State. Kirwan explains this pick in his accompanying video.
(Kirwan, Jim Miller picks based on last Friday's mock on SiriusXM Radio. Listen to their next mock Friday, April 21, on SiriusXM NFL Radio channel 88).
--Frank Cooney, IMO: Dion Dawkins, G, Temple. He proved himself capable at tackle in college and looked good at guard in the Senior Bowl. Indiana's Dan Feeney had more college experience at guard, but Dawkins is a tough guy with more upside.

Miami Marlins pitcher Jeff Locke Rolando Mcclain Womens Jersey is likely to miss at least the first month of the season as he recovers from biceps tendinitis, according to manager Don Mattingly.
Locke threw off a mound Saturday morning for the first time in more than a month, showing progress from an injury suffered at the start of spring training.
"I don't know what we'll do next, but for today it was good," Locke told reporters of the session, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. "I feel a lot better than I was feeling before, that's for sure."
Mattingly said there is no timetable for Locke's return to the Marlins.
"Just going through it in the past, it'll be a little while," Mattingly said. "Probably all the way through April, late April, May, middle of May. Something like that."
Locke was 9-8 with a 5.44 ERA in 19 starts and 11 relief appearances for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. He signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Marlins during the offseason.

Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook put up another eye-popping scoreline Wednesday night, setting aHarrison Smith Youth Jersey playoff record for the most points scored in a triple-double performance -- but the Thunder lost to fall into an 0-2 hole in their series with the Rockets.
On Thursday's "Undisputed," Shannon Sharpe argued that despite his production, Westbrook ultimately cost his team a vital win by refusing to stop shooting.
"For three quarters in the ballgame he shot them to a lead, 12 points at one time. He went to the bench with about two minutes left in the third quarter, and they gave all of it back except three points.
"And then, in the fourth quarter, he shot them out of the ballgame. He went to the bench, he had 36 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds [through three quarters]. He was 13-of-25."
